Education within the Haliç University Faculty of Medicine is delivered through two distinct programs: Turkish and English. Students who are participating in either of the programs must have proficiency in the language of instruction as a must. The duration of the medical education program is six years, comprising three consecutive main periods:a) Clinic-Integrated Basic Term:The primary object of learning during the first three years of Interdisciplinary perspective based on theory and/or practice subjects are organized under different Subject Committees. These committees are woven by horizontal and vertical directions through which they link the courses based on systemic, vocational, and clinical skills while covering all three types. Candidates pursue subjects of their choice which have been divided according to the passing of committee member tests. Clinic-integrated Basic Course focused is creating a standing for Medical Clinics by merging theory with practice. It gives theoretical knowledge combined with practical applications and allows the students to gain practical clinical experience during the consecutive Clinical Medical Science Period. This training, in turn, only enhances the utilization of their medical training.b) Clinical Medical Sciences Period:Encompassing the final two years of the training, this period utilizes senior clinical experience in the wet lab and is supplemented with practical experiences in clinics, polyclinics, and operating rooms. The Clinical Medical Sciences Period aims to integrate the instructional knowledge and practicable skills gained at the Clinic-Integrated Basic Course and clinical training to solidify their acquired skills and prepare them for the internship phase.c) Internship:During the final sixth year, the students start working in the organization for an uninterrupted twelve-month term whereby they have the opportunity to care for the patients full-time. The mainstream period, in particular, seeks to equip students with the practical skills, competencies, and knowledge that were gained previously under the supervision of the instructors. If a student passes all the necessary courses, graduates have the right to take the degree of an M.D.
