The Maritime Transportation Engineering Management program aims to prepare students for vessel operation and equip them with the skills and knowledge of internal vessel operation procedures. Graduates of this department can be recruited for roles ranging from third officer to Captain on mercantile vessels undertaking long voyages. Additionally, they can assume technical responsibilities in vessel construction yards and maritime companies. The training approach is interdisciplinary, incorporating maritime management topics such as maritime law, vessel hiring, brokering, economy, and staff management, alongside courses on basic engineering, vessel technologies, maritime meteorology, and oceanography.
