Thus, midwifery education plays a vital role in healthcare training.While midwifery has ancient origins, it has evolved into a modern profession with graduate and doctoral programs. International organizations emphasize the urgent need for more midwives globally to reduce mortality rates and unnecessary cesarean deliveries.Biruni University's Health Sciences Faculty Midwifery Department aims to produce graduates capable of independent practice, research, and advancing the midwifery profession to meet national healthcare needs. The university began admitting midwifery students in the 2016-2017 academic year, contributing to the growing pool of qualified midwives addressing healthcare challenges.
