International students in Malaysia are allowed to work during their studies, but under specific conditions. Students holding a Student Visa are permitted to work part-time for up to 20 hours per week during the semester, and full-time during school holidays. Approved jobs include certain on-campus roles or other positions such as private tutoring or work in the hospitality sector. However, students must obtain a work permit from the Malaysian authorities.

After graduation, international students are granted the opportunity to stay in Malaysia for up to 12 months under the "Post-Graduation Work Permit." This permit allows graduates to search for employment opportunities in Malaysia. If they secure a job, they can apply for a long-term work permit.
